Signing up for a new class can be intimidating - not knowing what to expect, whether it's right for you and whether you'll enjoy it can be off-putting. To reassure my lovely clients that they're choosing something beneficial for their current fitness level, bank balance and lifestyle, I'm breaking down how the classes and courses are going to work so everyone can book with confidence.

Mini Massage & Mama Moves is a collaboration between Fit Happens and Charlottes Blossoming Babies. Charlotte is trained in baby massage, doula support, childcare and everything in between - she's been a valuable part of my personal parenting journey and I'm proud to have been a member of her baby massage assessment group way back before my son figured out how to escape.

This course will bring together that wonderful baby massage and movement for mums, allowing you to bond and help your baby relax before getting to know your new body and some other like-minded new mums! The massage section will take place once we're settled in with a refreshing drink and each week will focus on learning a new area of massage, starting at the legs and feet, moving up through the tummy, arms and chest and finishing with the back and face. These sessions will give you uninterrupted bonding time with your baby, communicating through loving touch. The massage is a great way to support their relaxation, aid development and help them start to learn about their bodies and where exciting things such as feet can be found! It can also be an excellent way to relieve colic and constipation (I remember the toot chorus from my course!). Overall it's time to spend with your child, connecting and communicating love while learning new skills.

Once the babies are relaxed, we will move onto the the movement section. We will work to gentle music to reacquaint you with your own body, moving to strengthen and tone the areas affected in pregnancy and birth and helping you to feel more like a human again. Starting with a warm up, we will then have approximately 20 minutes of conditioning time: half general, half focused - starting with pelvic floor training in the first week, then diastasis-safe core recovery and finally upper back and posture support before bringing it all together in our 4th week. We will then have 10 minutes stretch and relaxation for you.

The course is suitable for anyone who has been signed off for exercise by their GP or midwife and recommended for non-mobile babies although you're welcome to try and massage a crawler! Having a childcare professional and a seasoned mum at hand means we can support you with whatever type of day you and your baby are having to ensure you get the most from the course. If you need to miss a week, we'll send you a catch up email so you feel informed for the next session.

There are only 6 spaces available, make sure to book early!
