What to Expect: Dance It Out

Signing up for a new class can be intimidating - not knowing what to expect, whether it's right for you and whether you'll enjoy it can be off-putting. To reassure my lovely clients that they're choosing something beneficial for their current fitness level, bank balance and lifestyle, I'm breaking down how the classes and courses are going to work so everyone can book with confidence.

Dance It Out

This class has a simple format - get sweaty and have a boogie. Lights will be low, music will be upbeat, cheesy and likely eclectic with requests always welcome!

I love to dance, I love the endorphin rush, I love it as a way to get my cardio workout in. I love to imagine that I look like Beyonce when actually I will often look like a bag of elbows rattling my collarbones at you and calling it a 'shimmy'! Dance workouts have become more complex in recent years, incorporating so many props and provisions that I didn't know where to start so I went with the basic, joyful, 80s-adjascent style of just moving to the music in a fun, low pressure way.

The class will always start with a warm up before working through a series of short exercise-based, 'switch off your brain and get moving' dance routines before bringing all of those moves together into one longer routine. These longer routines will be the same for a number of weeks so if you don't get it the first time, you can always try again! Once our routine is done we will cool down then complete a short conditioning section to seal in that excellent work before stretching and heading home, hopefully feeling happier, calmer and with a sense of achievement in your workout!

Anyone is welcome - I operate a 'pick your own adventure' policy in my classes and will give lower impact and lower intensity options that you can stay with or pick up the pace for higher intensity and impact. All I care about is that you keep moving and enjoy yourself!

Interested? Classes are currently at 7.30pm on Tuesdays in Highfield Church Centre, more classes will be scheduled according to demand.

Interested but not available on Tuesdays or in Highfield? Register interest below and I'll be in touch.
